How it all began?
My whole life is connected with animals. That includes my private life, my education and my business. I worked as a marketing manager in a company which imports premium food and equipment for pets. Three years ago I had to arrange a TV show about pets on one of the private television channels in Zagreb. My work as an editor has changed with the work of an inventor, director and producer. It was a very hard period of my life. My every day was just working and sleeping and repeating the same cycle. Every morning I would awake with brand new idea. That was a very delightful and pleasant period of my life. One day a friend of mine called me and asked me if I am interested in making of a single episode about a pregnant Borzoi.
That’s how it all began.
Of course I accepted such an interesting invitation. That had to be their first nest of Borzois in Croatia after many years. When I saw Hana (the mother of my Lona) I thought: "Is she really pregnant, just few days to the delivery? Nothing can be recognized on her". She was slim, charming and beautiful. Only when she lied down and calmed herself, you could see outlines of the babies moving in her.
After a few days she delivered seven beautiful and healthy puppies, two males and five females. Unfortunately, Hana had a complication and she had to go for an operation. For her owners, Jasminka and Slavko began the sorrow days full of doubt, worries and big concerns. They were very worried about Hana's situation which was critical. They also had to take care for about seven little hungry puppies. Thanks to the intensive day-night care of doc. Košutić everything ended well. Hana has recovered from the operation and she retained milk. Puppies made progress every day and I took pictures of them and planed how to tell the story about Hana. That is how the TV article incurred - Hana's first love.
How much do we affect our own lives, and how much is destiny? My loving dog Bor left me a year ago. He was 15 year old brown, long braided Belgian sheep dog. He was my life. I cry whenever I remember him or when I see another of his breed. He was really nice and loyal dog; very clever and beautiful. In the meantime I adopted one little black female dog. She was very temperament and sweet dog. I named her Nera. She eased my pain for a while, but at the same time I was thinking to get another dog. And then the destiny interfered.
I met Hana.
For me, Borzois were always personification of elegance and beauty. Something that was unattainable. But then I found a chance to fulfill my dreams and transform them in to the reality. I spent days and nights surfing on the Internet and reading everything about the Borzois. My feelings were changing; from worry and fear to enthusiasm. One day I made a decision and I generously, but awkwardly, asked Hana's owners if they would agree if I would take one of their female puppies.
Unfortunately, Hana had a complication and she had to be operated.
Belona has come to my house.
